When To Call a Doctor
You should call our office anytime you have a question about your feet. It can be helpful for an array of reasons from simply offering needed advice to helping diagnose a critical concern.
You should also call our office when you notice there is:
- 1Persistent pain in your feet or ankles
- Changes in the nails or skin of your feet
- Severe cracking, scaling or peeling on your heel or feet
- Blisters on your feet
- Changes in the shape of your toes, feet or ankles
- Signs of infection such as redness, warmth, increase in tenderness, pain, pus, or red streaks extending from the area of concern
- Foot or ankle symptoms that do not improve after several days of treatment with a non-prescription product
- Spreading of infection from one area of the foot to another such as under the nails, over the skin which moves up your leg with red streaking (cellulitis)
- Thickening of the toenails that cause discomfort or difficulty wearing shoe gear
- Heel pain
- Tingling or burning in your toes or feet
- Diabetes with or without poor circulation
